Writer · Editor · Content strategist
I get fluent in the work by doing it myself and working with the people who live it, then I build systems from everything I learned.
I’m a writer and editor with 20+ years in media: Commerce content, audience development and the editorial craft underneath both.
About
I’m a writer and editor with 20+ years in media. My SEO knowledge is more editorial than technical: I have a deep understanding of E-E-A-T, hub-and-spoke content models and content built to be cited by AI search. I’ve led teams from one to 40 people, built multi-brand content operations and turned complex subjects into work people can actually use.
My roots are in specialist media: Hemmings Motor News, Road & Track, auction catalogs and independent publishing. That specialty now covers technology, lifestyle and healthcare too. I’m as comfortable at the story level as I am designing the process that makes hundreds of stories better.
That skillset translates directly to content marketing, communications and PR. The underlying work is what I’ve done for 20 years: Knowing what an audience wants before you write, keeping one voice across every channel and building content worth finding.
I’ve worked in most of the systems editorial work runs on: Multiple CMSs including extensive WordPress experience, Ahrefs and Semrush, Asana, Monday and Airtable, plus Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. I’m conversant with computer hardware. I taught my first college “how to surf the web” seminar in 1997.
I like figuring out how things work, explaining them and fixing them when they are broken.
Résumé
A writer and editor with hands-on depth in assigning, editing, writing, commerce content and content models built on E-E-A-T.
I founded Bargain Hunter and built commerce content operations across Us Weekly, Woman’s World, First for Women and the Miami Herald, including deployment of a seven-figure outside content-agency contract.
I edited and wrote across Hemmings Motor News, Road & Track, Mecum auction catalogs and Redeye Media: Deeply reported features, high-volume editorial packages and specialist automotive content.
My bylines include The New York Times, BBC, Esquire, Popular Mechanics, Car and Driver and Road & Track.
I managed an academic library through institutional planning and accreditation, then built and ran RedEye Photography. Both jobs taught me the operational discipline my editorial work runs on.

Twenty years of content expertise, applied to mobility and transportation, technology, lifestyle, commerce and healthcare.
